The Story of a Deaf Frog

Let me share you a short but inspiring story. A friend of mine asked me to read about this story and eventually, it turned out to be one of my favorite stories.

There once was a bunch of tiny frogs who arranged a climbing competition. The goal was to reach the top of a very high tower.A big crowd had gathered around the tower to see the race and cheer on the contestants. The race began. No one in the crowd really believed the tiny frogs would reach the top of the tower. Heard throughout the race were statements such as, “Oh, way too difficult”, “They will never make it to the top”, “Not a chance they will succeed”, and “The tower is too high”.The tiny frogs began collapsing, one by one - except for those who, in a fresh tempo, were climbing higher and higher. The crowd continued to yell, “It is too difficult! No one will make it”!More tiny frogs got tired and gave up. But one continued to climb higher and higher. This one refused to give up!At the end of the race, all had given up climbing the tower except for the one tiny frog who, after a big effort, was the only one who reached the top!All of the other tiny frogs wanted to know how this one frog managed to do it. They asked him how he had found the strength to succeed and reach the goal.It turned out that the winning frog was deaf!

The main lesson of this story is that in order for us to reach our dreams, we sometimes need to become deaf with all the criticisms and discouraging things people are throwing us. People will always say things, they will underestimate our potentials, they will even doubt about our skills and it's up to us if we would let those words bring us down or better ignore what they say. When they see you at the top, they will try to pull you down but are you gonna allow them to take what you have invested for so long? Let them say what they want but don't bother to listen, rather prove them all wrong. Life's too short to worry about what other people think or say, so do your job and give them more things to talk about, in the end, you will find yourself at the top while these people are still down there, trying to destroy you, but still they can't. So follow your heart, set your goals, and always, always, always, believe in yourself. It's not yet too late to become who you want to be!
